The Monaco Yacht Show is definitely one of the most prestigious and appreciated events of the Principality, bringing together the most important professionals from the international luxury yachting sector.

SMEF, one of CMB s branch offices, devoted to the Yachts financing, has been an active participant to this exhibition for the last five years, showing thus its huge interest in this Luxury Yachting sector.

Compagnie Monégasque de Banque has started up private banking operations in Switzerland

Compagnie Monégasque de Banque (CMB), 100%-owned by the MEDIOBANCA GROUP, has started up private banking operations in Switzerland, with the establishement of CMB Banque Privée (Suisse) SA in Lugano.
The new office commenced operations on March 1st 2009, and will focus its activities on the administration and management of funds for Swiss and international clients, following the traditional spirit of the parent company based in Monaco.
Mr. Etienne Franzi, previously member of the Principality's Government and currently Chairman of the Monégasque Association of Financial Activities (AMAF) and CMB Monaco, has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors. Then Deputy Chairmen are Mr. Edoardo Loewenthal, Chief Executive Officer of CMB Monaco and Mr. Henry Peter, Professor at the University of Geneva and an Attorney at Law based in Lugano.
The General Manager of the Company is Mr. Giancarlo Pianezzi, who has held management positions in various important private banking institutions in Switzerland.

CMB acquires Capitalia Monaco

Compagnie Monégasque de Banque (CMB) and Unicredito Italiano S.p.A have reached an agreement on the acquisition of the private banking activities of Capitalia Luxembourg (100% subsidiary of Unicredito Italiano SpA) in Monaco by CMB (Mediobanca Group). The transaction is expected to close in March 2008.

This acquisition with 500 million euros of Assets under Management, will allow CMB to consolidate its position as one of the leaders of the Principality's financial marketplace.

Following CMB's acquisition of ABN AMRO's Private Banking activities in Monaco in 2006, this new transaction fits within the ongoing growth strategy of the Compagnie Monégasque de Banque.
