Launching of a new mutual fund (FCP) governed by Monaco:

Compagnie Monégasque de Banque is pleased to announce the launch, on 1 October 2010, of a new unit trust enabling its customers to access the convertible bond asset class with wide risk diversification.

The fund is in euros, invested in convertible bonds and is aimed at giving subscribers an opportunity to access relatively protected shares "financed" by the high spread (or yield gap) of the issuers.

Thanks to the specific nature of convertible bonds, the fund enables an asymmetrical risk exposure through the effect of the stock option that underlies this type of product or that is held directly in the fund in the case of combination as a synthetic convertible (bonds + option) permitting the conversion mechanism or its synthesis.

Moreover, the asset management company seeks to give added value in its fund management through its selection of issuers and diversification of performance factors.

The principle risk and performance factors in this type of investment can be described as follows:
The share risk defines short-term performance.
The bonds generate supplementary yield opportunities.
Interest rate evolution only has a secondary impact compared to the volatility of the shares and bonds.
The options enabling the conversion mechanism allow the convexity, or asymmetry, of the instrument.
Exchange offers the benefit of diversification and allows geographical opportunities to be seized.

The principle technical characteristics of the fund are as follows:
Name: Monaco Convertible Bond Europe
Exposure to standard currencies: 65% Euro, 35% USD, GBP and CHF
Initial value of one unit: 1,000 euros
Daily liquidity
Subscription by units or value amount, surrender by units
Subscription commission: 0.50% max
Management commission: 1.25% max
Outperformance commission: 20% of the difference, if positive, between fund performance and performance of the Exane Europe Convertible Bond index (Bloomberg: EECIEECI < Index >)
Minimum recommended investment period: 4 years
