With over 15 years of experience in Sales Trading and Advisory across Asia and Europe, our colleague Yacine Guechi has just reached a new milestone in his professional journey by obtaining Level 3 of the CMT (Chartered Market Technician) certification. He is now the first CMT-certified trader in Monaco - an achievement made possible through the CMB Academy, our degree-awarding training program for internal talent.

1. Can you tell us about your background and your current role at CMB Monaco?
I now have over 15 years of experience in Sales Trading and Advisory, with a career built across major financial centers in Asia and Europe. This journey has allowed me to develop strong expertise in supporting clients active in financial markets. At CMB Monaco, I specifically work with Direct Access clients - those who seek fast and direct execution of their investments.

2. You’re currently the only trader in Monaco to hold the CMT (Chartered Market Technician) certification! What motivated you to pursue it?
Technical analysis is already part of my daily routine, but I wanted to go further. The CMT (Chartered Market Technician) program is one of the most rigorous and globally recognized in this field. By enrolling, I had a dual objective: to deepen my knowledge and to structure my approach through an institutional methodology. It allows me to develop a more robust, systematic view of market dynamics and to enhance the value I bring to our clients.

3. What does the CMT certification cover? What skills has it helped you strengthen?
The CMT program teaches you how to effectively integrate technical analysis concepts into a comprehensive investment approach. I developed several key skills that are directly applicable to my role as a trader:

• Integration of advanced technical tools for more precise daily decision-making.
• An inter-market approach to better understand correlations across asset classes.
• Portfolio management techniques based on technical signals, especially regarding position sizing, risk management, and market timing.

These are all levers that help me make more informed and disciplined decisions in an increasingly complex market environment.

4. You earned this certification through the CMB Academy. In your view, what is the added value of programs like the CMB Academy for internal talent?
